Postpartum Doula (DONA/ALACE)
I was drawn to doula work after the birth of my son in 2004. I began attending births that year, and fell in love with the process of walking alongside a family as they welcomed their new baby to the world. Our daughter was born in 2007, and I spent the next several years continuing to attend births and provide postpartum support. After a 15-year break where I worked at an independent school here in Austin, I happily returned to doula care in 2026.
I trained with DONA International and ALACE (now ToLabor), and have also taught breastfeeding classes. I have attended childbirth classes including Conscious Birthing, Hypnobirthing, and Bradley.
I especially love offering support during the postpartum time. Those first weeks and months at home with a baby contain so many emotions and states of being–joy, worry, exhaustion, overwhelm. I love to help ease that transition and help families experience as much joy as possible.
When I’m not working with families, I love hanging out with my own family in Southwest Austin, cooking, gardening, reading, and daydreaming.
